About Calvin Garvey
“DaTruth,” was developed by Calvin Garvey. He had a vision to create a forum for adults to discuss their relationship questions freely. DaTruth is a place where both men and women can find out the answers to their questions and use this knowledge to improve their existing relationships or develop new loving relationships. It is also a place where new ideas and techniques can be discovered so that we can begin to close the communication gap between men and women.

Do you know the difference between a thermometer and a thermostat?
A Thermometer reflects the temperature of the environment. It simply reacts to what's happening around it. A Thermostat, on the other hand, regulates the environment. It sets the desired temperature of the room.
This means that you're either a reflection of the world around you or someone who changes the world around you. One is reactive. The other is proactive.
So which one are you? Do you merely react to the people, difficulties, and circumstances that come your way? Or when something happens, do you take a deep breath, examine the situation and then CHOOSE your reaction?
Instead of just wishing you could feel a certain way, remind yourself that the feeling you seek is yours to choose right now. Instead of depending on circumstances to dictate your environment turn it around and let your thermostat (character) control the environment.
The difference is......one sets the temperature and one adjusts to the temperature.
Are you carrying any anger or sadness from your previous relationship?
If so, choose to heal today. You can’t build anything new on a shaky foundation. Start fresh. Your future is waiting for you. Don’t get stuck in the past.
What are some of the challenges of being in a relationship with you?
We all have our flaws. It’s what makes us human. (If you’re stuck, think back on your last 3 significant relationships. What would they say if asked this question about you? It’s important to know so you can attract the person who will support you instead of tearing you down. It’s also going to tell you what you need to work on.)
Have you created emotional and physical space for someone in your life?
In other words, are you able to be vulnerable and trusting and do you actually have time for a significant relationship?⠀⠀
Calvin's Proverbs of the day
No matter where you are, there you are. What you’re looking for is also looking for you. So be what you’re looking for.
